We are delighted to confirm that Dunsford Community Academy (formerly Dunsford Community Primary School) has joined our Multi Academy Trust from 1 January 2018. This follows a decision and consultation process by governors, to secure the future and ongoing success of the Dunsford Community School.
Dunsford Community Academy is joining an inclusive, growing family of exceptional schools based across the South West. These include: Ilsham C of E Academy, Ellacombe C of E Academy, Little Stars Childcare Centre, All Saints Marsh C of E Academy Newton Abbot, Warberry C of E Academy, Thurlestone C of E Academy, Charleton C of E Academy and West Alvington C of E Academy.
This will herald the beginning of a new chapter for Dunsford and the Trust’s journey to excellence.
Mrs Alphey, Head of Academy at Dunsford, said: “ We are excited to be joining such a welcoming, inclusive, collaborative and successful family of schools. Through working together we will be empowered to provide the best possible education for each individual pupil well into the future. Our academy will remain a central part of our thriving village community whilst also benefiting from the support of our Multi Academy Trust.”
The Learning Academy Partnership aims to continue to build upon recent successes and is looking forward to continuing to work with their parents, staff and communities; Collectively Empowering Excellence for the benefit of all children. As a result of joining the Trust, Dunsford Community Academy has already been able to provide expanded nursery provision at the school, and is now open daily, offering free 15 hour and 30 hour childcare funded place. This would not have been possible as a local authority school.
Mrs Atkinson, Chief Executive of the Learning Academy Partnership, said: “Since joining the Trust, all of our schools have continued to improve year on year to deliver on our promise of exceptional schools for our local communities. Dunsford Community Academy will enrich our Trust and we are looking forward to working closely together to transform children’s lives.”
