The children at Warberry Church of England Academy are celebrating once again, following a letter MP, Nick Gibb, congratulating them on their superb achievement in the 2017 phonics screening check.
The children at Warberry have excelled in the annual phonics screening check and this year 97% achieved the pass mark, which places them in the top 5% of primary schools across the country.
In his letter, Nick Gibb says: “We want to ensure that every child develops a firm grasp of phonics, which is why I was delighted to see your results. With 97 percent of pupils at Warberry Church of England Academy reaching or exceeding the pass mark in the check, your school is in the top 5 percent of all primary schools in the country… Thank you for your work in this vital area of a child’s early education and congratulations again to you and your staff for all you have achieved.”
