Ilsham C of E Academy, which is part of the Learning Academy Partnership, has been inspiring the next generation of scientists during this year’s British Science Week.
Throughout the week, children at the academy were treated to a visit from The Spires College Science department as well as having the opportunity to take part in a hands-on workshop with Fizz Pop Science.
During each visit, the children observed and took part in a range of different experiments and lessons that helped expand their understanding and interest in different scientific areas. The children found the experiments to be very informative, fun and inspiring, creating a real buzz for scientific learning around the academy.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the activities throughout the week with some even expressing a keen interest in becoming scientists when they grow up.
The theme of British Science Week 2022 was ‘growth’ which enabled the children to experience a range of investigations and spark their curiosity.
In order to continue the excitement and enthusiasm for science Ilsham C of E Academy have created a brand-new Science Club as part of their extra-curricular activities.
Jake Grinsill, Head of Academy at Ilsham C of E Academy, said:
“British Science Week gave us a wonderful opportunity to expand our children’s horizons and introduce them to new thoughts and ideas about the exciting possibilities of science.
We are delighted to be playing our part in inspiring the next generation of Scientists.”
