Children at All Saints Marsh C of E Academy, which is part of the Learning Academy Partnership, enjoyed a few special days celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in style, making their own colourful crowns, enjoying a street style party and a visit from a very special visitor.
The children spent the week learning about the historic events that have taken place during the 70-year reign of Queen Elizabeth and the special role she fulfils in society. The children also learnt about and discussed how they can follow the Queen’s example in developing strong, positive values and raise their aspirations for the future.
To celebrate the momentous occasion, the children also enjoyed an exciting picnic outside in the sun. They were treated to a tremendous spread of handmade treats, including sandwiches, sausage rolls, pizza, cupcakes and not forgetting the all-important jelly and ice cream.
As the crowns glistened and sparkled in the sun, the children and staff had a wonderful time celebrating and spending time together sharing their lunchtime and listening to party music. Before desert, the children were treated to a special visit from the ‘Queen’ which culminated in lots of giggles.
The day was rounded off by an invitation for all families to join the children for tea and cake. The Catering Team did a fantastic job at providing a sumptuous spread while the academy’s parent and teacher friend association (PTFA) organised the afternoon celebrations. The children had a fantastic day celebrating the Queen’s impressive 70-year reign.
Laura Secker, Head Teacher at All Saints Marsh, said: “We really enjoyed celebrating the jubilee at All Saints Marsh and having a fun surprise of ‘the Queen’ attending made it extra special for our children. It was great to see how enthusiastic our children were to learn about all Her Majesty’s fantastic achievements, and it may have even inspired the next generation of leaders for our country.”
