The children at All Saints Marsh C of E Academy, part of the Learning Academy Partnership , are very much looking forward to spending time in their new library, opened by MP Anne Marie Morris on Friday 8th July.
The library has been a product of the efforts of the whole school community as staff and children have put in a lot of hard work to bring it to fruition, from the design stage, to the choosing of the books and the art work to decorate the walls.
The new space is designed around a nature theme and will create a welcoming and calming environment for our children to enjoy browsing through and reading our new books. The magical door to where reading creates dreams to take you anywhere being a big favourite!
The children were treated to a reading, by some of the Year 6 children, from one of our favourite books called, coincidentally, ‘The Library Book’ . There was an introduction and thank you speech from Laura Secker, Head Teacher, and the all-important official cutting of the ribbon, opening the library, by MP Anne Marie Morris.
Carly Watson, Trust English Lead, said ‘Our vision at All Saints Marsh is ‘Building lifelong foundations together’ and reading is the foundation of everything that we do to enable children to flourish across the curriculum. Recently, we have invested in many new books for our new library and the children cannot wait to enjoy these!”
Anne Marie Morris, MP, said: “What an absolute pleasure it was to be invited and to be part of opening such a wonderful library”.
Laura Secker, Head Teacher, said. “Our children are continually challenging themselves to develop their reading. They are developing a love of a range of stories and texts and we know just how important this is to all learning. Our new library is full of really high-quality texts across all reading levels so that every child can access a book they will love.
