The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) children at Warberry C of E Academy, which is part of Learning Academy Partnership, were very excited to welcome their local fire service.
During the visit, the pupils had the opportunity to learn about the various roles within the fire service and how they help to support their local community.
The children loved watching the lights and hoses in action and even got an opportunity to try on some of the uniforms. In particular, they really enjoyed learning about the different equipment the fire service use and the fire engine itself.
The pupils also learnt all about the importance of fire safety. The academy were so proud to see the children demonstrate their Christian values of responsibility and respect when learning about fire safety and meeting with the fire service.
Following the exciting day, the children were eager to share their newfound fire safety and service knowledge with their families at home.
Karen Southard, Head Teacher at Warberry C of E Academy, said: “Our pupils hugely enjoyed the visit from our local fire service, it was a truly fantastic way to kick off the year. I’m also so proud of how respectful and eager to learn they all were.
“Thank you again to the whole fire service team for creating such a special day for our pupils.”
