If you are excited at the idea of making a difference to children’s lives, and have a determination, passion and commitment to your own personal development then this could be the programme for you!

In collaboration with Plymouth Marjon University and our Partnership Schools, we are proud to have created a school based training programme that combines learning alongside dedicated and talented teachers in the classroom, skilled mentors who will support and challenge you, bespoke school based subject knowledge days led by expert practitioners and  finally you be immersed in the latest educational research.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have good interpersonal skills.

  • Have good organisational skills and excellent time management.
  • Are reflective and strive to improve their own practice.

Did you know?

  • You can train locally  in one of our schools across Devon
  • In one year you will be qualified with a PGCE and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • You will be based in a school working alongside expert teachers

You will need …

  • A UK honours degree (or recognised equivalent)
  • GCSE Grade C/Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Science, Maths and English

Once you have successfully completed the programme you could be earning £24,000+.

Funding

If you secure a place the tuition fees for the programme are currently £9,250.  You may be eligible for a tax free bursary or scholarship to support your training. These funding streams are dependent on the phase/subject in which you are training and your qualifications.

Plymouth Marjon University have published an extensive guide called How to Get into Teaching, it is an excellent resource to help potential trainees secure their place and prepare for life as a trainee teacher. The guide covers everything from choosing a route into teaching, to teacher training personal statements, interviews, applying for your first teaching job, understanding the Early Career Framework and much more. It includes a downloadable teacher training survival guide, written for trainees by trainees.

Once DfE Apply opens in October we begin accepting applications and our selection process will be ongoing until we either fill our places or until the end of the Summer term. We encourage applicants to apply as early as possible.
